Optical fiber patch cord: used to make the jumper from the device to the fiber optic wiring link. It has a thick protective layer and is generally used in the connection between the optical terminal and the terminal box.

Optical fiber pigtail: only one end has a connecting head, and the other end is a broken head of an optical cable fiber core, which is connected with other optical cable fiber cores by fusion. It often appears in the optical fiber terminal box and is used to connect optical cable and optical transceiver (couplers, jumpers, etc.).

The difference in the use of the two: the jumper is connected to the tail fiber and the terminal equipment, the tail fiber is connected to the optical cable and the jumper.

Commonly known as optical cable splicing package, it belongs to the mechanical pressure sealing joint system, which provides optical, sealing and mechanical strength continuity between the adjacent optical cables. There are many installation tutorials for cable connection boxes. Here we mainly introduce the small skills of disc fiber and connection fixing.

● Optical cable connection box fiber skills

1, the optical fiber in the disc can not play a small circle, the length of the optical fiber should be appropriate. Small circle or bending radius of optical fiber will cause the optical signal loss to increase; If the length of the reserved fiber is too short, it will make welding difficult to maintain, and if it is too long, it will reduce the safety of the optical fiber. The length of the reserved fiber is generally 2 to 4 turns in the tray before welding. If the same type of tray is used for a long time, the length of the reserved fiber can be measured first.

2, the fiber connection is the most vulnerable place, if the external heat shrinkable tube vibration, will break the joint, the heat shrinkable tube on both sides of the fiber is also easy to break, therefore, the heat shrinkable tube must be embedded in the tube base fixed, and be careful not to press on the fiber.

3. After the fiber tray is good, soft sticky adhesive paper is used to fix it, and hard or poor quality adhesive paper such as double-sided tape should not be used, otherwise, the adhesive paper will be aging for a long time, loosening the disk fiber, and the fiber will be broken or the loss will increase when the wind or external vibration occurs.

● Cable connection box fixing skills

1, the most important thing when the connection box is fixed is its sealing, the connection box shell cover to check whether it is sealed, pay special attention to the sealing of the cable inlet, it is best to use a circle of adhesive in each port.

2. After the connection box is fixed, the cable on both sides should be wound several times and tied firmly. If the cable on one side of the connection box is straightened, the beam tube in the connection box will break off the tray or even shrink into the outer sheath of the cable due to thermal expansion and contraction.

When optical transceivers are embedded with optical modules, optical transceivers are divided into single-fiber transceivers and dual-fiber transceivers according to the number of fiber cores connected to the fiber jumper. The linearity of the fiber jumper connected to the single fiber transceiver is a fiber core, which is responsible for both transmitting and receiving data. The linear of the fiber jumper connected to the dual fiber transceiver is two fiber cores, one of which is responsible for transmitting data and the other is responsible for receiving data.

If an optical transceiver does not have an embedded optical module, it can be distinguished according to the inserted optical module. If a single-fiber bidirectional optical module is inserted into the optical transceiver, that is, the interface is simplex, the optical transceiver is a single-fiber transceiver. When a dual-fiber bidirectional optical module is inserted into an optical transceiver, that is, the interface is duplex, the transceiver is a dual-fiber transceiver.
