FBT VS PLC
The different way of distribution of the spectral ratio is also one of the main differences between the two. The spectral variability of the pull-cone splitter is the greatest advantage of this device. The splitter of the PLC splitter is equally divided and the signal can be evenly distributed to the users. For example, a 1×32 PLC splitter can divide the optical signal into 32 equal parts and then transmit it within 32 different channels. Sometimes, due to the inconsistency of the number of users and distance, the optical power of different lines needs to be allocated. At this time, devices with different optical splitting ratios need to be used, and FBT splitters will be used.
PLC Splitter is a kind of integrated waveguide optical power distribution device based on quartz substrate, which is suitable for connecting local and terminal devices and realizing optical signal splitter in passive optical networks (EPON, BPON, GPON, etc.) and FTTx networks.
It is one of the important passive optical devices in optical fiber links, which has one or more input terminals and multiple output terminals. Its three most important components are the input of the fiber array, the output end and the chip, the design and assembly of the three components of the PLC optical splitter can be stable after the normal work has played an important role.
→ PLC optical splitter classification and specific usage
First of all, we first understand that PLC optical splitter has centralized distribution and cascade distribution. Let's talk about classification and usage.
[1] Bare fiber type
Bare fiber type PLC optical splitter directly using optical fiber (generally using ribbon fiber) lead out, the two ends are not into the end, mainly suitable for infrequent disassembly occasions, the use of welding or cold connection installed in various types of tail fiber box or test instrument.
[2] Miniature
Micro PLC refers to a small optical splitter assembly that is encapsulated in steel tube and uses 0.9mm loose sleeve for fiber output. Mainly applicable to the installation space is relatively tight, do not need to weld or cold connection, such as cable connector box, fiber optic fiber box, can also be installed in the plug type and rack type optical splitter combination box.
[3] ABS box type
It is encapsulated in ABS plastic box, and the port is led out by tail fiber. It is mainly used in the rack and installed in the cable handover box when the optical fiber branch enters the home.
[4] Insert type
Plug-in PLC uses ABS plastic box packaging, the port uses the end type. It is used in FTTX system for users who need to split light. The main function is to complete the end of optical fiber cable entering the cell or building. It has the functions of optical fiber fixation, stripping, splicing, jumper, and shunting, and then enters the end user in the form of fiber cable after splitting.
[5] Rack type
The rack-mounted PLC is packaged in a metal box and can be installed in a 19-inch 1U cabinet.
